New USB sc reader from OMNIKEY

Smart card reader manufacturer OMNIKEY, has announced its new CardMan 3621 USB smart card reader.

Based on OMNIKEY’s newest chip set design, the class 2 reader has one of the highest reader-to-card transmission rates available on the market and features a 16-key integrated keypad for Secure PIN Entry (SPE) and PIN change operations. This makes the product especially suited for digital signature, banking and payment applications, the supplier claims.
The smart card reader is designed to meet all major standards, such as ISO 7816, HBCI (Home Banking Computer Interface), EMV 2000 (Europay, MasterCard, Visa) Level 1, Microsoft WHQL, USB, PC/SC, the PC-2001 specification and others. Usage within an application is based on standardized interfaces such as PC/SC, OCF (Open Card Framework) or CT-API.
