circuit, to store and process information. Also
known as Integrated Circuit (IC).
The chip is embedded in the plastic surface of a
card. These cards can be known as a Smart Card or
Integrated Circuit Card (ICC), the terms are used
interchangeably. In the card environment there are
different types of chips used such as RFID, hybrid,
contact & contactless.
