Leading Smartcard Flexible Circuits Manufacturer FCI Reinforces Its American Expansion

Versailles-/Wi-Fi Technology News/-FCI, the worldwide leader in flexible circuits for contact smartcard, reinforces its presence in the US with an experimented team. Robert M. Fee, Regional Manager Americas, joined FCI Microconnections’ division to significantly develop the business of existing and new accounts for the full range of FCI products.


He addresses growing opportunities in the Americas particularly in the field of smart security, asset tracking and flexible printed circuits for consumer and industry applications.

Prior to joining FCI, Robert was the general manager of LEGIC Identsytems’ America’s business unit. LEGIC is a leading designer and manufacturer of 13.56 MHz contactless smart card technologies. Since he started his career, Robert has worked for major US corporations creating marketing and sales strategies and programs, such as Cernium, Inc., Rockwell Electronics Commerce or Zebra Technologies.

RFID specialist Chris Zimmardi, Senior Field Applications Engineer Americas, is responsible for technically supporting existing and new customers for current and new applications in the field of RFID either for smart security or asset tracking segments – banking, mass transit, NFC, libraries, industry, pharma, cosmetics and data storage.
Chris began his career as a system engineer with defense contractors Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin. As a Field Application Engineer at Texas instruments, his role included sales and marketing support for TI’s passive RFID technologies including LF, HF and UHF. Chris then transitioned to Hitachi America, Ltd., to continue as sales engineer for Hitachi’s Mu-solutions.

Chris is co-author of RFID Item Level Management, A practical Approach (Andrechak, Wilson and Zimmardi, Mullaney Publishing Group, L.L.P. © 2007). Robert M. Fee has been active on a variety of trade associations including CompTIA, IACLEA, IAHSS and the Smart Card Alliance. Mr. Fee has written article on contactless smartcard technology for Security, RE:ID News and ST&D Magazine.
