Zenius Enables Contactless Mobile Payments
Zenius Solutions, an NFC software Relevant Products/Services company supporting mobile Relevant Products/Services payments, Contactless acceptance devices and NFC add-ons, today announced the completion of the first end-to-end live acceptance of a Contactless credit card on a mobile phone. ZeniusMobilePOS with RTA (Real-Time Authorization) reads information from a Contactless card, performs transaction processing, and connects with the Authorize.net payment gateway for online authorization.
The end-to-end transaction marks the ability for ZeniusMobilePOS with RTA to interface with an external authorization system – allowing on-the-spot authorization for field merchants.
The new offering advances ZeniusMobilePOS, released just 3 weeks ago by Zenius, by adding RTA capabilities – fully enabling merchants to read and process Mastercard PayPass, Visa payWave, American Express ExpressPay and Discover Network Zip on an NFC-enabled mobile phone. John Wiese, CEO of Zenius Solutions, noted, "By giving anyone, anywhere the ability to securely accept and authorize Contactless cards on a mobile phone, we have taken a giant leap toward mass commercialization of Contactless technology."
ZeniusMobilePOS adds value to current mobile merchant services by supporting a more secure transaction which can provide less expensive card-present transaction rates for mobile merchants. Merchants also benefit from the ease and speed of the transaction – the phone reads the card information instead of requiring keyed input. Additionally, transaction information can optionally be stored securely in the Secure Element for later batch processing. ZeniusMobilePOS can support Relevant Products/Services both US and EMV Contactless transactions.
Zenius – which has recently emerged from stealth mode -- originally deployed ZeniusMobilePOS as a trade-show demo but has since seen significant commercial interest in the application. Beyond cards, ZeniusMobilePOS can also accept transactions from other NFC-enabled devices – transactions including payments, couponing, ticketing, transport, and more.
ZeniusMobilePOS with RTA is available as a free demo under license with Zenius. Though it is currently running on Nokia models 6131 and 6212, ZeniusMobilePOS with RTA can be ported to additional hardware Relevant Products/Services platforms upon request.
