XIRING receives the Paris - Ile de France 2009 Ambition Award in the Growth Category
XIRING, a European security solutions provider for remote transactions, won the Paris - Ile de France Region 2009 Ambition Award in the Growth Category at a ceremony organised by the Banque Palatine and the La Tribune daily newspaper.
For the third year running, the Banque Palatine in partnership with the La Tribune Group, the HEC Group and, this year under the patronage of Eric Woerth, the French Minister for the Budget, the Public Accounts and Civil Service, has awarded the Ambition Award. The award is intended to showcase the most dynamic enterprises in each region in terms of business growth, international expansion and sustainable development.
For the Paris - Ile de France Region the jury, composed of important figures from the business world, Banque Palatine executives and the winners of the 2008 Ambition Awards, chose XIRING as the 2009 Award winner in the Growth category.
With sales of 28.5 million euros in 2008, XIRING posted an average annual growth of 50% over the past 5 years and a turnover that has more than doubled over the past 2 years.
In the banking industry security solutions based on the MasterCard and Visa standard are replacing static passwords in many European countries and XIRING is positioning itself as a market leader in this area. In France, XIRING has signed its first major contract with the Banque Populaire Group, which has started to equip its 400,000 clients with personal bank card readers, known as “Home Chip and PIN”. This system enables the bank card chip to be used for secure on-line banking transactions and payments over the Internet. The potential for strong authentication solutions is being underpinned by the growth in e-commerce and online banking and their associated security requirements.
In the healthcare sector, XIRING is already the leader in professional SESAM-Vitale solutions in France and is gaining ground in international markets with chip-based healthcare card programs that are under development across Europe.
