Vodafone Qatar Selects Oberthur Technologies as Preferred SIM and Scratch Card Provider
Oberthur Technologies, one of the world's leading smart card suppliers, has been selected by Vodafone Qatar Q.S.C ("Vodafone Qatar"), part of the Vodafone Group, the world's largest mobile network, to provide the company with SIM Cards and top-up cards to support the upcoming launch of its mobile commercial services planned in March 2009.
Oberthur Technologies has been supplying SIM Cards to Vodafone since 1999 and has also been a strategic supplier of the Vodafone Group's portfolio of GUSIM products for several years.
With a dedicated regional support team in Dubai, Oberthur Technologies is able to provide support services locally to Vodafone Qatar, including a certified SIM product combined with tailor-made SIM applications. This project is part of Oberthur Technologies' strategy of developing key partnerships on both a regional and global basis with market leaders. Through this new project, Oberthur Technologies reinforces its position within the Vodafone Group and its presence in the Middle East.
