Date: 11/05/2010

LaserCard Corporation (NASDAQ:LCRD) (www.lasercard.com), a leading provider of secure ID solutions, demonstrated its advanced, multi-technology smart card solutions at the Cards 2010 South America show in Sao Paulo, Brazil last month. The Company showcased its highly counterfeit-resistant optical security media and other mainstream smart card technologies addressing the needs of major government ID programs around the world.

“The Trend toward Multi-Technology Cards in Government ID Programs”

Interest in multi-technology ID cards is increasing among governments worldwide as they seek to combine multi-functionality with high security, durability, and ease of authentication in applications ranging from patient ID to e-government to border crossing.

During the event, Dave Oller, Vice President of Sales, Americas, for LaserCard, presented a paper entitled “The Trend toward Multi-Technology Cards in Government ID Programs” which featured the Company’s ground breaking multi-technology program for the Carabinieri (Italian Police Force). Oller said, “LaserCard’s multi-layered approach provides substantial hurdles for counterfeiters to overcome. The Carabinieri card illustrates the benefits of combining optical security media with other standards-based technologies to create a leading edge, secure credential.” The presentation drew great interest from delegates and stimulated lively discussion in the question and answer period.

LaserCard was invited to participate in the event as a guest of Thomas Greg & Sons, to whom LaserCard is providing technical support in certain areas of card production.
