KBA-Metronic at the ICMA Spring Academy Workshop in Rome
Experts from the card manufacturing industry will be meeting at the ICMA Spring Academy Workshops ahead of this year’s ICMA, taking place in San Diego from October 14 - 17. As in previous years, the workshops will be split between two locations: Rome April 18 and 19, and St. Louis, USA, June 12 and 13. Professionals from all over the world will be swapping ideas for the future of the industry in presentations and symposia at the two forums, the slogan for which is “Setting the Standard for Card Manufacturing”.
Marcus Goerlitz of KBA-Metronic AG will be speaking on innovative offset printing technology at the table-top forum in Rome. Delivering a paper entitled “Printing Technology and Innovation”, Marcus will be reporting on the potential of the latest KBA-Metronic printing technology. The use of new materials, creative applications, security, economy and efficiency are the themes of the future. Features such as ease of handling, short makeready times, brilliant, photorealistic print quality, quick-drying waterless UV inks and the innovative keyless inking unit with 4 impression cylinders are particularly crucial for the market. This futuristic printing technology is the secret behind the Genius 52UV, for instance, the compact sheetfed offset printing press from KBA-Metronic. The efficiency of the Genius 52UV in this segment is underlined by the fact that it has been installed in so many places across the world.
Marcus Goerlitz has been Area Sales Director Print Technologies at KBA-Metronic, a 100% subsidiary of Koenig & Bauer AG, since January 2006, with responsibility for the American, German, Benelux and Danish markets. He was previously employed by the parent company as National Manager for Specialized Waterless Printing Products in England, Scotland and Ireland.
