GET Group’s Toppan CP400 Printer Technology Selected for Qatar’s National ID and Residency Card
GET Group, a world leader in Passport and ID issuing solutions, announced that its Toppan CP400 card printing solution has been recently selected by the State of Qatar for the new National Identity and Residency card issued by the country’s Ministry of Interior.
This award to GET Group’s Qatari affiliate, Global Enterprise Technologies (GET Qatar), will allow the Ministry of Interior to upgrade its existing Toppan CP300 system delivered by GET Qatar in 2003 to the latest secure pigment ink card printing technology available from GET Group. A total of 157 Toppan CP400 printers will be ultimately delivered for this project and used to issue about 1.5 million cards per year.
The Toppan CP400 printer, which employs patented 600dpi high resolution pigment ink printing technology, will be equipped with dual interface smart card encoders to produce biometric identity cards with unprecedented security, color fidelity and durability. The CP400 printer is used for various high security ID projects around the globe including driving license, national ID and government access control solutions.
