GPD
Global Platform Development
GPRS
General Packet Radio Service. Wireless communication service allowing mobile terminals to have continuous connection, capable of receiving messages at any time without the need to dial into a central system. Integrated in Etsi's GSM Phase 2+ specifications, GPRS was developed so the cell network operators could offer data transmission services in packet mode at sport flow rates reaching 170 kbit/s.
