CASTLES unveils the VEGA7000, Its new PCI-PED EFT-POS terminal based on USIP©
Hong Kong, June 6: Innova Card, a leading provider of secure hardware and software solutions, today announces that the new EFT-POS VEGA7000 developed by Castles Technology has received a full PCI PED accreditation.
The VEGA7000 is as a countertop EFT-POS Terminal with an integrated magnetic stripe card reader, smartcard reader and secure access module to support a variety of applications in a convenient footprint. The VEGA7000 is dedicated to merchants who want to benefit from faster transaction speeds, greater security and more cost effective processing in electronic payment transaction. This new terminal supports most of the communication protocols, including 10/100 Ethernet, USB, RS232, WiFi and GSM/GPRS/CDMA standards. Furthermore it features an optional built-in Contactless Reader. The extensive range of communication options enables the terminal to fit any host device, network or environment.
The VEGA7000 is powered by the acclaimed USIP® 32-bit secure microcontroller from
Innova Card. This highly integrated SoC provides the most optimized single-chip solution for POS terminals while offering advanced security mechanisms to comply with PCI-PED specification. USIP® embeds many complex peripherals that reduce the bill of materials for payment terminals including secure keypad controller, smart card interface, thermal printer controller, LCD interface and USB Host and Device controller. Some of its unique security features include patented on-the-fly external memory encryption, battery backup secure memory with instant erase capability and integrated tamper detectors.
